Quick & Healthy Breakfast


When I was training for my first half-marathon I read multiple articles about the importance of getting a well-balanced breakfast before hitting the road. While I admit running 6 miles in the morning isn’t part of my regular routine now, starting the day with a healthy, well-balanced breakfast has become a part of my daily regimen. I am all about meals that are simple, healthy, and quick to make and this one fits the bill. The balance of whole grains, healthy fats, and protein from this meal will leave you feeling full throughout the morning. Some days I pair with a small container of plain non-fat greek yogurt if I am wanting a little extra protein. Bon appetit!



1 slice of Ezekiel bread toasted (can be found in the frozen food area in most grocery stores)

1 tbsp of almond butter

Sliced banana

Raisins for topping

Cinnamon sprinkled on top

If you keep your almond butter in the fridge like I do, I recommend popping the meal in the microwave for 10 seconds before eating – enjoy!
